Making Felted Octopus using felt balls

Making Felted Octopus using felt balls

For those who want to make cute felted animals but don't want to spend so much time on needle felting, here is a super quick and super cute felt hacking.

Step 1. prepare tools

We will need one large felt ball (3.5cm), five small felt balls (1.5cm), a pair of black doll eye, matching color sewing thread, sewing needle and clear glue. Optional to have few white felting wool, and one needle felting needle.

Step 2. sewing

Sew the five small felt balls to one side of the large felt ball as the photo below

STEP 3. OPTIONAL- Add DETAILS

This is an optional step. If you would like to add suction cup details, put a tiny bit of white felting wool at bottom of the small felt ball, then gently poke the wool into the felt ball with a felting needle. If you have a 40G fine needle, it is recommended to use a fine needle to reduce pinholes in the surface.

Repeat the same step for all five small felt balls until you get your octopus legs look like the photo below.

Step 4. Add Eyes

To add the eyes easier, you can use an awl to pock a hole on the larger felt ball.

Then add some clear glue onto the black doll eye.

Place the black doll eye into the hole. Repeat the same step for both eyes.
